Clarence Wallace Jordan

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Evangelical Free church in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Clarence “Kenny” Wallace Jordan was born on March 11, 1927 to Astor and Elizabeth (Gross) Jordan in Newell, South Dakota. He attended school in Newell and worked on the family ranch. Clarence was united in marriage to Rose Oedekoven on November 9, 1951 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis, South Dakota. He entered the United States Navy serving in the Philippines and Guam. After the service the couple resided in Denver, CO where Clarence worked as a supervisor at Ryder Truck Rental. In 1963 they purchased a farm in Bogus Brook Township and operated a dairy farm and later raised beef cattle. Clarence worked at Mossford Implement in Foley for a short time and later for Northwest LP Gas as a truck driver. After an injury he retired and the couple resided in Princeton, later moving into a townhouse in Milaca. Clarence was very musical playing the accordion, piano, violin, harmonica, banjo and guitar. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Clarence died on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Elim Home in Milaca at the age of 82 year and 19 days. He is survived by his wife, Rose, daughter, Debbie (Tom) Krauel of Milaca, 3 grandchildren, Melissa (Nathan) Brink of Lindstrom, Mary Krauel of Milaca, and Michael (Sarah) Krauel of St. Cloud, 2 sisters, Leatha (Lloyd) Skinner of Bridgeport. TX and Della Kalmbach of Phoenix, AZ and one brother, Clayton (Sharon) of Hulett, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lawrence and sister Elsie.
