Funeral services for Jennie Rensenbrink, age 102, of Milaca, will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Rev. David Smit and Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will follow at the Pease Cemetery. Music will be provided by Lois Roelofs, Marilyn Ryon and Mary Manselle. Casketbearers will include David Rensenbrink, Dan DeKam, Steve Rensenbrink, Randy Vogel, Todd Vogel, Tim Vogel, Jonathon Rensenbrink, Joel Pap and Mike Pap. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Jennie Rensenbrink was born January 20, 1907 in Galesville, WI to Klaus and Minnie (Kooistra) Zuidema. She moved with her family to Mille Lacs County at the age of nine. She married Henry Rensenbrink on April 4, 1931. They lived all of their married life on the farm near Pease. Jennie worked side by side with Henry as he did chores and milked cows. Jennie was an avid gardener and canned her garden produce along with many fruits and meats. Cooking and baking were also her specialties. Henry died shortly after their 64th Wedding Anniversary in April 1995. After Henry’s death she remained on the farm for four years before moving the the Milaca Hi Rise Apartments. She then moved to the Milaca Elim Home where she lived until the time of her death. Jennie was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. She will be remembered as a positive lady who made the best of any situation. She had an unselfish Christian attitude and was a very hard worker. She died on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Milaca Elim Home.
She is survived by her children, Don and wife June of Foreston, Jay and wife Greta of Milaca, Muriel Vogel of Sibley, IA, Bob Rensenbrink of Milaca, Ray and wife Wanda of Pease and Pauline and husband Harlan Pap of Milaca; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Eerdmans of Cambridge; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; daughters, Arlene DeKam and Judy Rensenbrink; infant son, Paul; sisters, Alice Strating, Bessie Rensenbrink and Suzanne Brinks and brother, Peter Zuidema.
