Darlene Joann (Bipes) Polinder, age 76, of Milaca, formerly of Estes Brook, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2016 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March18, 2016 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at the Onamia Area Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Darlene was born October 24, 1939 to Fred and Dorothy Bipes in Hector, MN. She attended country school in Cove and graduated from Onamia High School in 1959. After graduation, Darlene married her love, Warren Polinder, on April 8, 1960. They lived for a short time in Virginia, MN and Belvidere, IL, before moving back to the Milaca area and made their home in Estes Brook. Darlene lost Warren in 1989 due to illness. She continued to live in Estes Brook until her health declined. Darlene resided at Heritage House in Milaca for the last month.
Darlene’s passions were going to garage sales, embroidery work, George Strait, going to listen to Alan Godage and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhart Sr. and Jr. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, who she was so proud of.
Darlene is survived by her son, Lanny and wife Erin of Milaca; grandkids, Summer, Warren and Megan; brother, Duane (June) Bipes of Onamia; sisters, Alice Gronli of Paynesville and Mavis Rule of Brainerd; her pug, Diesel; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; special friend, Jack Bork; sister, Lavonne Britton; brother, Marlin Bipes and her parents.
