LaVonne Elaine Peterson

LaVonne Elaine Perterson, age 73 of Gladwin, MI passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 29 at 11 AM at the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. She was born Lavonne Elaine Johnson in Borgholm, MN a daughter of Carl and Doris (Tesnow) Johnson. She graduated from Milaca High School in 1953. On June 23, 1956 she was married to Robert J. Peterson in Bock, MN moving to Gladwin from Howell in 1997. LaVonne was a member of the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, reading, traveling, sponsoring seven international exchange students and dedicating much of her time to family. LaVonne is a 31-year kidney transplant survivor. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she had been employed as a caregiver for 25 years. Surviving LaVonne is her husband of 53 years, Robert Peterson of Gladwin, MI, 6 children; Terri (John) Bambakakis of Mentor, OH, Dale (Donna) Peterson of Owatonna, MN, Richard (Colleen) Peterson of Whitmore Lake, MI, Gerald Peterson of Gladwin, MI, Karla (Bassem) Toma of Shelby Twp., MI, and Daniel (Sheila) Peterson of Howell, MI. 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister MaryAnn Anfinson of Ogilvie, MN and brother Donald Johnson of Bock, MN also survive. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Michigan Kidney Foundation.
