James Andrew Bleed

James Andrew Bleed was born on June 28, 1932 in Estes Brook, Minnesota to Axel and Hulda (Nelson) Bleed. After school he worked on local farms and joined the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the oil fields in North Dakota and on January 3, 1959 he was united in marriage to Daisie McKinzie in Springfield, Missouri. The couple made their home in Estes Brook and Jim worked for Al Hubers at the Dutch Windmill Garage in Pease. He later worked at Smith Systems in Princeton as a welder for 32 years. Jim enjoyed attending many auctions and garage sales in the area and spending time cutting wood. Jim took great pride in his grandchildren. Jim died on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Northland Fairview Hospital in Princeton at the age of 76 years 10 months and 26 days. He is survived by his wife, Daisie of Foley, daughter, Karee (Dale) Meyer of Milaca, son, Ricky Bleed of Foley, 3 grandchildren, Danielle (Jonathan) Ingalls, Derek (Mary) Meyer, Jesse Bleed, 3 step grandchildren, Daniel (Tanya)Meyer, Donald Meyer and Dee Dee (Dave) Conkle, 6 step great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Howard (Mary) Bleed of Rush City, MN, Donald (Susan) Bleed of Castleton, ND and sister Grace (Ruben) Mewes of Amery, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Charles and Wesley and sister Betty. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the Estes Brook Free Church with Rev Wes Macy officiating. Interment will be in the Estes Brook Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday.
