Marce was born in Sioux Falls, SD on March 13, 1915 to Albert G. and Elizabeth M. (Bechtold) Studer. She moved to Foreston in 1920 and attended grade school there, and high school and Teacher’s Training Course in Milaca, after which she taught rural school. She married Kenneth Hirsch 1935 and they had six children. They resided in St. Paul a number of years, and after Kenneth passed away she and the children returned to Foreston where the family grew up, and she worked as postmistress. She married Francis “Frank” Brunn in 1957 and they had one child. While in Foreston she was active in the Mother’s Club, in church activities including choir, mission circle, and prayer group, was president of the Foreston Senior Citizen Club, and belonged to the 7-County Seniors and the Council on Aging of Mille Lacs County. She worked at Fingerhut and later, for many years, at First National Bank in Milaca.
At age 85, Marce moved to Bassett Creek apartments in Plymouth, MN where she loved volunteering and socializing; she became beloved at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Maple Grove, and volunteered for Methodist Hospital Lifeline. In 2014, she moved to Friendship Home in Roseville where owner, Vicki and staff provided her exceptional loving care.
Marce was a good, strong, and capable woman who overcame the tragic and sudden deaths of both her husbands to raise all seven children as upright and loving individuals, who are very grateful and proud to have had her as their mother.
