Janola (Borchart) Nelson, age 90, of Elim Rehab and Care Center, Milaca, Minnesota and formerly of Watertown/Mayer, passed away peacefully on October 03, 2016. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 08, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Paul’s Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Schaekel officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery near Foreston. Janola was born June 05, 1926 to Arthur and Martha (Farber/Muelich) Borchart in Hollywood Township. She married Russell H. Lange in 1944. Together, they had four children- Bonnie, Carol, Russ, and Judy. She worked at the Watertown Community Hospital for seven years as a floor nurse’s aide, lab technician, and at the doctor’s medical clinic. She married Raymond Nelson on November 26, 1967, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted, Minnesota. She was a homemaker and his farm partner. In 1986, Ray and Janola moved to Milaca, where she worked at Milaca Mills, and later was a home worker along with Ray for the Cointainer Company. She was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Church, participating in many activities, but her favorite was singing in the choir and singing duets with Ray. Her hobbies included: sewing, quilting, creating treasures for all of her family, and flower gardening. Janola is survived by her children, Bonnie (Ronnie) Strei, Carol (Perry) Dragt, Russ Lange and Karen Meyer, and Judy (Keith) Rademacher; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and nephew, Wayne (Lois) Muelich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Arthur and Martha Borchart; brother, Merlyn (Lila) Muelich; grandsons, Randy Strei and Jesse Lange.
