Larry Wayne Secord, age 56, of Zimmerman, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, October 7, 2016. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11 AM at the church. A private interment will take place at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Larry Wayne Secord was born December 13, 1959 in Milaca, Minnesota to Darrell and Marie (Lundberg) Secord. Larry grew up on a farm south of Bock and graduated from Milaca High School in 1978. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 82nd Airborne for four years. He was united in marriage to his best friend, Judy May Villnow, on June 2, 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Milaca. Larry and Judy were blessed with one son, Steven, who was born February 18, 1983. Larry and Judy farmed on the family farm south of Bock for several years prior to him becoming a carpenter. Larry enjoyed life to the fullest with family and friends, especially special times with his grandchildren. Larry had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, scuba diving, skydiving, flying, horse camping, four-wheeling, cooking, BWCA trips, riding motorcycle, and snowmobiling. He often said, “I laugh a lot, because life is short.” He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Steve and wife, Ahren; grandchildren, Evan and Aliza; also many relatives and close friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Marie Secord.
