Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour before services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Asssemby #6, on Wednesday, September 30 at 11:30 AM Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Vernie May Taylor was born on May 31, 1929 to Frank and Lontina (Nelson) Beto in Cushing, MN. She started school near Cushing in a country school and later attended school in Little Falls where she graduated from High School. She was united in marriage to Willard (Bill) Taylor on September 3, 1947 in Little Falls, MN. The couple resided in Little Falls, Wauban and Detroit Lakes. Her hobbies included cross stitching, knitting, crossword puzzles and reading. In April of 2009 Vernie moved into the Milaca Elim Home. Vernie died on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Elim Home in Milaca at the age of 80 years 3 months and 27 days. She is survived by daughter, Susan Anderson of Milaca, son, Lorence (Larry) and wife, Elaine Taylor of Detroit Lakes, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Helen Nipper of Cross Lake, MN and Tina (Gene) Packer of McGregor, MN, 2 brothers, Chester (Zelda) Beto of Minnetonka, MN and Frank Beto of Little Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Bill, 3 sisters, Ruth, Myrtle and Elise and 2 brothers, Elmer and Leslie.
