Harriet Hasert

Harriet Hasert was born on September 11, 1919 in Marshall, MN to Anton and Anna (Mattson) Miller. She was united in marriage to Loren (Stub) Hasert of August 9, 1938. In 1946 the couple moved to Onamia where Harriet worked Bob’s Cafe and with her husband operated their own Café in Wahkon. Harriet helped at Eddy’s Launch service and was an active member of the Legion and VFW Auxiliary in Onamia. She loved to bake and cook and share with family and friends and was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Harriet died on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Mille Lacs Nursing Home at the age of 90 years 1 month and 13 days. She is survived by son, Jesse (Irene) Hasert , three daughters, Carol (Michael) Kollar of Stanchfield, MN Nancy (Roger) Dobbelaire of Glenham, SD, Janet (Patrick) Hurd of Alexandria, VA, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Doris Hokins of Marshall, MN, Irma (Donald) Christenson of Shakopee, MN, one brother, Darriel (Jean) Miller of Mankato, 2 sisters in laws, Virgie Donatoni of San Francisco, CA and Elsie Hasert of Mineota, MN and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter at birth, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Onamia with Rev. Joe Boeringa officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Casketbearers are grandchildren, Ronald, Donna, Randy, Michael Jr., Jody, Jeff, Janis, Shad and Stewart. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 28 at 11:15 AM. Arr are with the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca.
