Richard Peter Hansen was born on August 29, 1948 in Milaca, MN to John and Margaret (Manthie) Hansen. He grew up in Hayland Township and attended North Fork Country School and the Ogilvie High School. Richard entered the United States Army serving a tour in Vietnam. Following the service he resided in Hayland Township and worked for C. E. Rogers and Anderson I.B.E.C. doing sales on the road. From 1975 to 2001 he resided in Mora. He retired because of a disability in 1984 and later worked at Freddie’s Restaurant and Gorecki’s Manufacturing in Milaca. He has resided in Hayland Township where his hobbies included feeding the wild life and collecting swords, knives and guns.
Richard died on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Milaca Elim Home at the age of 61 years 2 Months and 12 days. He is survived by 4 sisters, Mary Ann LeGore of Barstow, CA, Connie (Larry) Glidden of Ogilvie, Rae Hansen of Ogilvie, and Robin (Wes) Nelson of Milaca, 3 brothers, Roger Hansen of Ogilvie, Albert (Joy) Hansen of Rice Lake, WI and Jeff Hansen of Milaca, his mother, Margaret Hansen in the Princeton Elim Home and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 19th at the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Robert DeYoung officiating. Visitation will be one prior to the services on Thursday.
