William P. “Bill” Lines passed away quietly in his home on November 11, 2009 after a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on December 23, 1926 in Cottonwood, MN. Bill was a World War II army veteran, avid outdoorsman, life-long music enthusiast, and voracious reader. He attended undergraduate and law school at the University of Minnesota where he met his wife, Elizabeth “Be” Longley Lines. Bill & Be moved to Milaca in 1953 after he was offered a full partnership in the law firm of Leonard Paulson. He practiced law in Milaca for 54 years retiring in May 2007 at the age of 80. One of his life’s passions was music, playing the trumpet in the St. Cloud Municipal Band for 39 years and singing in the Zion Lutheran Church choir for 54 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth, and four children; Kevin (Mindy) Lines of North Branch, Kristi (Douglas) McNamara of Minnetonka, Todd Lines of Deephaven, and Beth (Rick) Crook of Milaca; seven grandchildren, Willy (Julia), Kelly (Tyler), Alison, Robert, Cody, Connor, Spencer, and one great grandson, Tate William; 95 year old sister, Florence Stevens, of Alexandria; and many friends and extended family members. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 3pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 245 Central Avenue South, Milaca, MN.
