Mass of Christian Burial for Charlie Fischer, age 79, of Foley, will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston with Fr. James Remmerswaal, O.S.C. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Visiation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Thursday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Charles J. Fischer was born July 15, 1930 to Anton and Caroline (Marks) Fischer In Hankinson, ND. He married Leota Elifrits in Bald Eagle Lake, WI in 1950. Charlie was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church where he served on the church council, as a trustee and on the parish C.C.D. patrol. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus and was a 4th degree Knight. Charlie also enjoyed camping and fishing. He died on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN as the result of a tractor accident.
He is survived by his wife, Leota of Foley; sons, Rodney (Linda) of Staples, Mike (Janet) of Murpheesboro, TN, William (Donna) of Princeton, Paul (Lori) of Princeton, and James (Kim) of Stillwater, MN; daughters, Mary (John) Schmidt of Princeton and Barbara (Gary) Hicks of Marietta, GA; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marie of Eagan sister, Mary (Bob) Jaeb of Coon Rapids, MN; brother, Eugene of California; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bruce; brothers, Lawrence, Jake, George, Joe and Jerry; sisters, Louise and Rose.
