Funeral services for Louise Peterson, age 90, of Buffalo, formerly of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Interment will follow at Borgholm Cemetery in Bock. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Monday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Music will be provided by Cheryl Bailey. Casketbearers will include her grandchildren. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Louise Irene Peterson was born August 26, 1919 in Milaca, MN to Andrew and Anna (Newgard) Hokanson. She grew up and attended school in Milaca and was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca. She was united in marriage to Magnie Peterson on May 22, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca. The couple farmed in Bogus Brook Township until 1996 when they moved to Milaca.
Louise was active in the Eunice Circle at Zion Lutheran Church and helped found the Santa Lucia Luncheon. She also was a member of the Current Events Club and help with the 4-H Club. Louise enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She was also known as a talented seamstress, the “beautician” for the ladies and children in her neighborhood. Louise died Friday, January 29, 2010 in Buffalo, MN.
She is survived by her son, Charles (Elaine) Peterson of Withee, WI; daughters, Mary (Gary) Weihn of Albertville, MN and Susan Peterson of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren, Jean (Eric) Braun, Julie (Kurt) Hubbs, Jackie (Steve) Schaupp, Andrew (Evelini) Peterson, Katie Peterson and Brian (Lyndi)Peterson; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Austin, Benjamin, Taylor, Jonathan, Madelyn, Dylan, Evan, Emma, Carson, Zachary and Landyn; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Magnie in 2006 and her brothers and sisters.
