Dorothy Mary Bruflodt

Dorothy M. Bruflodt, age 83, of Milaca, passed away at her home in Milaca on Monday, March 29, 2010. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Music will be provided by Todd Lines. Dorothy’s grandchildren will serve as honorary casketbearers. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Dorothy Mary Bruflodt was born December 20, 1926 in Princeton, MN to Martin and Mary (Eckstrom) Johnson. She grew up in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School in 1944. She continued her education at St. Olaf and the University of Minnesota. She married Gerald Bruflodt on November 1, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca. Dorothy worked at William Lines Law Office and for Mille Lacs County in the social services department. Dorothy was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church where she served as the church organist for many years. She also played piano for the church choir and was a member of the women’s circle. Dorothy was also a member of the Fairview Hospital Auxillary, the Milaca American Legion Auxillary, the Current Events Club and several bridge groups. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing piano and traveling, including four trips to Europe. She is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Charles) Schmidt of New Hope, Mark (Norma) Bruflodt of Princeton, Marshall Bruflodt of Keller, TX and Donna (Minks) Bruflodt of Princeton; grandchildren, Jennifer Schmidt, Anna Schmidt, Dorian (Eric) Sjogren, Derek Bruflodt, Christopher Bruflodt, Erin Bruflodt, Kyle (Shealyn) Bruflodt, Rebekah Bruflodt and Christian Bruflodt; great-grandchildren, Lily, Nolan, Liam, Eli, Emerysn, Alisiah and Dalilah; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael and twin brother, Curtis (Elinor) Johnson.
