Dennis Braaten, age 45, passed away April 18, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at the Foster Cemtery near Wahkon, MN. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Dennis Braaten was born December 2, 1964 to Larry and Virginia Braaten in Princeton, MN. He graduated from Milaca High School in 1983. He continued his education at St. Cloud Vo-Tech for HVAC. He then moved with his family to Onamia in 1996 to start his own business, Country Side Heating and Cooling. He continued to run the business until 2007 when he was injured in a fall. Dennis enjoyed fishing, traveling, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, spending time with family and friends and listening to country music, especially Hank Williams Sr. and Hank Jr. and the legendary “Country Drifters Band” which his dad, two uncles and Randy Webeck were members of.
Dennis is survived by Jodi Benson of Onamia and their children, Brandy (Matt) Satzinger of Coon Rapids, Daimond Braaten of Phoenix, AZ, Zachery Benson of Onamia and Dayna Braaten of Pipestone, MN; parents, Larry and Virginia Braaten of Milaca; brother, Brian Braaten of Onamia; grandmother, Gladys Braaten of Onamia; father and mother in law, Dan and Linda Strunge of Milaca; brothers in law, Tom Strunge of Mora and Paul (Jennifer) Strunge of Ogilvie; sister in law, Michelle (Scott) Mertes of Midland, MI; also by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Clarence Braaten and Peter and Vern Eggen.
