Willard "Bill" DeKraker

Funeral services for Willard “Bill” Jay DeKraker, age 67, of Princeton, formerly of Lowell, MI, will be held on Saturday, May 15 2010 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Rev. Arlan Koppendrayer officiaiting. Interment will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the services both at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Music will be provided by Curt DeVries and Angela Orcutt. Casketbearers will be Ron DeKraker, Willard DeKraker, Jr., Adam Stout, Josh Wergin, Daren Koppendrayer and Rick DeKraker. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Bill DeKraker was born June 25, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MI to Joseph and Susanna (Huisman) DeKraker. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Koppendrayer in Lowell, MI on May 15, 1976. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked at Steelcase for 30 plus years. He was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Lowell and served as a council member, as well as being a Sunday School teacher, Cadet leader and junior high youth group leader. He served on the board at Ada Christian School. After retirement from Steelcase, Bill and his wife moved to Princeton, MN. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Pease where he also served as a council member. He volunteered for the VA Medical Center and actively participated in Starfish Ministries and the Crossroad Bible Institute. Bill enjoyed bowling, camping and spending time with his grandchildren! He is survived by his wife, Charlotte DeKraker of Princeton; children, Ron (Nancy) DeKraker of McBain MI, Willard Jay Jr. (Angela) of Gladwin, MI, Colleen DeKraker of Chicago, IL, Dawn (Adam) Stout of Brainerd MN; grandchildren, Phil DeKraker, Benjamin DeKraker, Peter DeKraker, Riley Stout, Tristan DeKraker, Olivia Stout, Gareth DeKraker, Paige Stout; sisters, Kaye (Jerry) Haagsma of Newaygo, MI, Sharon (Larry) Wagner of Wyoming, MI, Helen Nawrot of Rockford, MI; also by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Karol Edgar.
