Ethel Mae Cramer

July 8, 1937 — May 12, 2010

Funeral services for Ethel Mae Cramer, age 72, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Don Matheson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Ethel Mae (Baas) Cramer was born July 8, 1937 to Cornie and Bertha (Heil) Baas in Melvin, IA. She moved with her family to Woodstock at the age of 5 and attended school through the 8th grade. She continued to work on the family farm and helped with the housekeeping. Ethel was united in marriage to John Cramer on April 5, 1955. The couple moved to South Dakota and lived there until 1963 when they moved to Pease, MN. In 1974, they moved to Foreston and Ethel worked at Milaca Mills for three years. She then began working at the D.A.C. in Milaca, where she drove and enjoyed assisting clients. She worked at the D.A.C. for 25 years until her retirement. In 2009, Ethel and John moved to the Milaca Hi-Rise Apartments. She died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Milaca Elim Home. She was a wonderful person and her family will miss her welcoming hosted meals. It gave her great joy to see her family with full bellies and then would ask if they wanted dessert. She liked singing, collecting, reminiscing over pictures and cutting out interesting articles. She loved to travel, especially if it was to meet with family members. When traveling, she always packed the best snacks and made the coziest beds in the vans they traveled in over the years. She always encouraged her children to be good at something, no matter what is was. We will deeply miss you. She is survived by her husband, John; children, Lucinda (Phillip) Livaudais of Clovis, CA, Orin Cramer of St. Cloud, Lorin Cramer and Vivian Sether of Foreston, Sulinda (Mark) George of St. Charles, MO and Lorinda (Jason) Nelson of Milaca; grandchildren, Jon, Cyr and Angela Livaudais, Crystal Cramer, Brianna Keller, Jessica Cramer, Maegen George, McKinzie, Jaydin and Sadie Nelson; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Kathryn DeVries; brother, Marlin (Evelyn) Baas; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved in-laws.
