Zigrida Krake

December 23, 1944 — May 21, 2010

Zigrida Krake was born on December 23, 1944 to Vilhelm and Mildred Ansmits on a German ship leaving Latvia. She spent many years in a DP Camp in Germany before moving to Iowa. After many years the family bought their own farm outside Milaca where she spent her school years. She then graduated from St. Cloud State in 1967 and worked as a social worker for Hennepin County for over 28 years. In 1968, she married James Krake and moved to Prior Lake and had 2 children. She is survived by her, husband James; son, Bradley (Maggie) Krake of of San Diego, CA; daughter, Elizabeth (Keith) Benson of Salt Lake city, UT; granddaughter, McKenzie; two sisters, Arija Mikelsons of Olympia. WA and Anna Bruggeman of Milaca. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Karlis and sister Inta. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will be in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery near Foreston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Music will be provided by Cheryl Bailey and Vicki Thompson. Casketbearers will include Marty Mikelsons, Robert Mikelsons, Andi Mikelsons, Keith Benson, Bradley Krake and William Krake. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
