James J. Hill

Funeral services for Jim Hill, 56, of Milaca were held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milaca with the Rev. Marvin Blaske and the Rev. David Hahn officiating. Music was provided by Diane Billmark, Ray and Janola Nelson, The Faithful Men and Rebecca Hahn. Pallbearers were J.D. Hill and Joe Hill. Burial was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Jim died June 6 at his home surrounded by his family, 18 months after being diagnosed with Leukemia. He was born Jan. 21, 1954 to Russ and Betsy Hill. He grew up in Milaca attending Milaca schools. On April 15, 1989 Jim married Chris Beckman at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was blessed with four children. Jim worked as a truck driver, owner/operator for most of his adult life. He enjoyed laughing, barn dances, helping others and music. Jim embodied kindness and loyalty. He lived his faith, shared that faith with everyone he met, and loved his family and friends without limit. He is survived by his wife Chris; father Russ; children, Heather (Nick) Ackman of Superior, Wis., Clara Hill of Kansas City, Mo., J.D. Hill and Joe Hill; grandchildren, Dorian Ackman and Kairi Ackman; brother Steve Hill (friend Janie); brothers-in-law, Steve (Renee) Beckman and Tim (Tabatha King) Beckman; sister-in-law Marilyn Hill; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and his dog Charlie. He was preceded in death by his mother Betsy Hill; and grandparents, Larry and Mary Ida Cornelius, James C. Hill and Nick and Clara Marudas.
