Funeral services for Albertha Peterson, age 93, of Princeton, formerly of Milaca, will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Interment will follow at Wendell Hill Cemetery near Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Casketbearers will include Don Timmer, Loren Timmer, LeRoy Greenfield, Scott Thiesen, Russ Timmer and Mike Thompson.
Albertha Peterson was born January 1, 1917 near Pease, MN to Edward and Froney (Bleeker) Vugteveen. She was united in marriage to Clifford Peterson on July 16, 1943 at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Milaca, MN. They made their home on the Peterson family farm. After farming for a few years, Cliff and Albertha went in to business for themselves, raising chickens for the Jack Frost Company. They worked with Jack Frost for 34 years. Albertha loved to travel, play cards, music and playing the piano. She also organized many senior dances in the Bock and Milaca area. Albertha was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca and served of many years as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Wendell Hill Cemetery. She passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Milaca Elim Home.
She is survived by her son, Arlyn “Joe” Peterson of Princeton; sister-in-law, Marian Johnson; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford in 1992; brother, Gorney and sisters, Jeanette, Gladys and an infant sister, Helen.
