Funeral services for Charlotte Wolbert, age 98, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2 PM at the Milaca Assembly of God with Rev. John Sahlstrom and Rev. Brynn Harms officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. The speaker will be Mark Wolbert and a tribute will be given by Richard Wolbert. Special music will be provided by Charlotte’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Richard Wolbert, Ron Wolbert, Mark Wolbert, Kevin Wolbert, Sam Sahlstrom, Joe Sahlstrom and John Sahlstrom. Honorary casketbearers will be Mary Beth Lewis, Brenda Ruth, Kim Lord, Mary Roelofs, Michelle Hollman, Carla Shir, Rachel Gutlovics, Michael Hollman and Kyle Stokke. Arr. Charlotte Evelyn Wolbert was born July 1, 1912 in Platte, SD to Charles and Gertrude (Gabrielson) Bailey. She grew up in the Platte-Kimball, SD area and graduated in 1932. She married Lewis Wolbert on September 5, 1933 in Mankato, MN. The couple returned to South Dakota to farm and moved to the Hansen place north of Milaca, MN in 1934. In 1939, they purchased their own farm southwest of Pease, MN. After several years, the family moved to Ogilvie, MN. Charlotte worked for 25 years as a nursing assistant at the Elim Home in Milaca and Princeton. Lewis passed away on Memorial Day, 1971. Charlotte continued to live in Ogilvie until 1989 when she moved to Milaca, MN. She had a deep faith in God and loved to read the Bible, pray, and pass out literature and tapes. Charlotte enjoyed baking and gardening. She passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Milaca Elim Home.
She is survived by her children, Marlyn (Marlys) Wolbert of Pease, Warren (Mary Lou) Wolbert of Maryland, Carol (Paul) Sahlstrom of Milaca and Lois Stokke of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Bailey of Washington; sisters, Martina Steffen and Dorothy Bailey both of Washington and Lois Dickey of Oregon; son-in-law, Lester Anderson of Monticello, MN; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lewis; daughter, Arlyss; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
