Funeral services for Harold E. Villnow, age 83, of Milaca, will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Nickel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Saturday morning. Casketbearers will be Vanessa Villnow, Shawn Villnow, Danni Lenzmeier, Mike Herrboldt, Cora Packard, Matt Villnow, Steve Secord, Becca Thibault, and Tony Broehl. Interment will take place Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls, MN.
Harold Edward Villnow was born November 3, 1926 to August and Leola (Peysar) Villnow in Renville, MN. He lived in the Hector area and later moved to Grove City to attend school. He moved to Princeton and graduated high school. On December 6, 1945, he enlisted in the Army Air Force. He served in the AAF-Occupational Forces in Europe. Harold was united in marriage to Alice Peterson on September 17, 1949 in Princeton. They dairy farmed in the Milaca area for sixty years. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harold died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his residence near Milaca at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 24 days.
He is survived by wife, Alice, of Milaca; children, Vandon (Liz) Villnow of East Bethel, Harold (Sandy) Villnow of Pierz, Loren (Sue) Villnow of Milaca, Lori (Leroy) Herrboldt of Elk River, Margaret (Gene) Packard of Waverly, Tom (Char) Villnow of Isanti, Judy (Larry) Secord of Zimmerman, Kenny Villnow of Foley, and Karen (Randy) Broehl of Mora; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; ; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; grandchildren, Jesse Villnow and Chris Villnow and sisters, Verlinda Fleming and Verda Brown.
