Grace Minnie Grandy

Grace Grandy, age 85, of Milaca, died August 4, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10 at 11 AM at the Milaca Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Monday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Grace Minnie Seaton Grandy was born March 24, 1925 at Hawley, MN to Fred and Minnie Hoffman Seaton. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 7 at Olyen Camp. She met, Vern Grandy, her future husband at the same camp in 1938. They were united in marriage August 26, 1943. Grace was a member of the Milaca Christian and Missionary church for many years. During that time she taught Sunday School, was Sunday School Secretary, and was part of the Missionary Prayer Fellowship. Grace enjoyed church work and in recent years she enjoyed knitting and crocheting hats for the homeless Missionary work in Mexico, and Light House Seaman’s Mission Center in Norfolk, VA. Light House Mission was the result of an article in the Power Sunday school paper. She is survived by children, Elizabeth (Darrel) Larson of Nampa, ID, Verna Nelson of Foreston, MN, Bernard (Ginny) Grandy of Nowthen, MN, Marcella (Paul) Olson of Herford, AZ, Esther (Doug) Anderson of Billingham, WA, Leland (Barbara) Grandy of Milaca, MN and James (Sandra) Grandy of Brooklyn Center, MN; 14 grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Vernon) Olson; sister-in-law, Lila Brandt; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Vern; her parents; 4 sisters; 2 brothers and 1 granddaughter.
