Barbara Bernice Welch

Funeral services for Barbara Welch, age 86, of Milaca, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 23 at Milaca Elim Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom and Rev. Jon Olson officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service at the chapel on Monday. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Casketbearers will include Jacob Welch, Brock Welch, Douglas Welch, Paul Waldon, Dan Albrecht and Rich Albrecht. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Barbara Bernice “Barbie” Welch (Grandma Barb) was born March 29, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to Bert and Barbara (McDonough) Bolin. She was united in marriage to Donald Welch and they made their home in Brooklyn Center. Barbara was a housewife and loving mother to her son, Tim. She enjoyed shopping at garage sales and spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderful tradition of having Christmas Tea with her cousins and friends. She even continued this tradition after she moved to the Milaca Elim Home. The family would like to thank the Elim Home Staff and Rev. Tom Sahlstrom for their special care. Barbara passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton. She is survived by son, Tim (Donelle) Welch; grandsons, Jacob, Brock and Douglas; good friend, Georgia Norstrom; also by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and an infant son.
