A memorial service for Lorraine Nicholson, age 67, of Prescott, AZ, formerly of Milaca, MN was held on Saturday, October 9 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with the Rev. David Smit officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Her granddaughters, Molly and Ellie Banks, provided special music.
Lorraine Nicholson was born April 1, 1943 to Leon and Emily Agenter. Lorraine grew up in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School in 1961. She was first married to Charles Banks. They made their home in Milaca where they raised their two boys, Leon and Chad Banks. Lorraine worked in the Milaca area including the telephone company, Keith Clinic and the Mille Lacs County Courthouse.
Lorraine moved to Arizona in the mid- 80s where she later married Scott Nicholson. Lorraine enjoyed working and managing various retail-clothing stores in her hometown of Prescott. She had a love for all animals, especially dogs and horses. Lorraine will always be remembered for her beautiful singing voice. She started singing at an early age and sang professionally for many years. Lorraine loved spending time with her family, especially her two grand daughters. She died on Monday, October 4 at the Milaca Elim Home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her children, Leon (Lisa) Banks of Leawood, KS, Chad (Amy) Banks of Milaca, MN; two grandchildren; Molly and Ellie Banks; brothers Bill (Karen) Agenter of Duluth, MN; Ron (Glory) Agenter of Phoenix, AZ; Sister-in-Law Judy Agenter of Fountain Valley, CA also by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends from the Milaca and Prescott area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon & Emily Agenter, husband, Scott; and brother Bob Agenter.
