Dora Elizabeth Stimmler

Funeral services for Dora Stimmler, age 88, of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 3 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Don Matheson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Casketbearers will include Dan Morehouse, Michael Stimmler, Max Stimmler, Christopher Stimmler, Joshua Stimmler and Matt Sluis. Dora Elizabeth Stimmler was born August 16, 1922 in Rogers, MN to Henry and Anna (Ristow) Fischer. She grew up and attended school near Rogers, MN. She married Max Stimmler on July 1, 1931 in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home and farmed near Elk River, MN. In 1971, they moved to Milaca and Dora worked at the Milaca Elim Home. She enjoyed cooking, going to the casino, playing pulltabs and spending time with family and friends. She died on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her children, Maxine Spears of Walker, MN, Julene and husband Everett Warren of Milaca, MN, Leonard Stimmler of Cambridge, MN, Max and wife Carol of Elk River, MN and Darryl and wife Mary of Milaca, MN; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max in 2005; brother, Clarence Fischer; daughter-in-law, Sharon Stimmler and son-in-law. Jim Spears.
