Jeri Kay Burklund

Mass of Christian Burial for Jeri Burklund, age 51, of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca with Fr. Jim Remmerswaal, OSC officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Music will be provided by Laurie Gahm, Kathy Statz and the St. Mary’s Choir. Casketbearers will include Andrew Burklund, Kyle Burklund, Joshua Burklun, Nathan Burklund, Alec Burklund, Neil Lindner and Noah Lindner. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Jeri Kay Burklund was born on July 13, 1959 in Mora, MN to Harvey and Sandra(McGuire) Burklund. She grew up on the family farm in rural Bock, MN. She attended grade school at Bock Elementary School and graduated from Milaca High School in 1977. She attended St. Cloud State University graduating in 1982 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught school at St. Michael’s Catholic School in Buckman, MN from 1982-1984 and Holy Trinity School in Pierz, MN from 1984-1993 until her illness. Jeri loved doing crafts, especially creating seasonal window and wall decorations for the changing seasons and various holidays. She also enjoyed creating personal birthday and greeting cards for her family. Jeri was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca. Jeri is survived by her children, Joseph (Diane) Stangl of Pierz, Mark Stangl of Pierz, Emily Stangl of Pierz, MN; granddaughters, Aliana Stangl of Pierz and Ellie Hanson of Pierz, MN; brothers Bradley (Sandra) Burklund of Clearwater, MN, Steven (Charlene) Burklund, Milaca, MN, Troy (Julie) Burklund of Sauk Rapids, MN, Tim Burklund (fiance’ Susan) of Bock, MN, Joel Burklund of Minneapolis, MN,; sister Tracy (Preston) Lindner of Apple Valley, MN; step-mother Janet Burklund of Bock MN; and many nieces and nephews. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Sandra Burklund, grandparents, Alfred and Hannah Burklund and Chuck and Gail McGuire, and stepbrother, Steven Kitner.
