Adeline Nobel, age 93, of Milaca, passed away June 7, 2024. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 2 PM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
Adeline Nobel was born August 12, 1930 to Ed and Sennie (Bouma) Kok in Bogus Brook Township, Mille Lacs County. She attended Milaca District 26 through 8th grade.
She was united in marriage to Bernard Nobel on December 12, 1951 in her family home. They lived in Iowa for a short time until Bernard was drafted. At that time, Adeline moved back to Pease, where she worked for Pease Produce while Bernard was stationed overseas. Pease became their home when Bernard was discharged. They lived in town until 1965 when they purchased Adeline’s family farm just east of Pease. She resided there until entering Milaca Elim Home in September of 2019.
Adeline was a life-long member of the Christian Reformed Church of Pease and belonged to the Ladies Neighborhood Bible study group. She loved the Lord and praying for her family and friends was always a top priority for her.
Even as a teenager, she enjoyed gardening. Adeline always had a large vegetable garden and continued to garden well into her late 80’s. She froze and canned many items from her garden over the years. Her dill pickles were a favorite of many. There would also be a variety of colorful flowers blooming in front of their home every summer. Baking was another of her skills. Cookies, bars or cakes were always available when someone stopped in for a cup of coffee and to visit. She was a big fan of the MN Twins, enjoyed bird watching, putting together puzzles, reading and agate hunting.
She is survived by her husband Bernard, daughter Debra (Mitch) Finley, grandson, Marcus (Kealsie) Finley, great-grandson, Connor Finley, sister, Sadie (Ray) Tellinghuisen, twin brother, John (Irene) Kok, sister-in-law, Harriet VanVoorst, brother-in-law, Bill Davelaaar, sister-in-law Marilyn Nobel and by many nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Curtis, siblings Christine Moorlag and Andrew Kok.
