Funeral services for Beth Boettcher, age 58, of Milaca, will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church in Milaca. Visitation will take place from 5 – 8 PM Monday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Beth Ellen Boettcher was born October 9, 1961 to Glenn and Alice (Moss) Peterson in Mora, MN. She grew up in Isle, MN, and graduated from Isle High School in 1980, with many warm memories of growing up with family and friends around the Mille Lacs Lake area and helping her dad on the lake. Of all the places she traveled and lived, perhaps no place is more special to her than Mille Lacs Lake and Isle. Beth had managed Sign Center for 20 years prior to becoming a full time homemaker. She had a way of making every person she interacted with feel that they were part of her family – coworkers and customers alike. The connections she made over the 20 years had a special place in her heart. She was united in marriage to Todd James Boettcher on July 8, 2000. As newlyweds, Todd and Beth were part of the Karmel Covenant Church community where special relationships were made and Beth’s faith journey blossomed and grew. She was a teacher and mentor for many young girls whose lives she forever impacted. Todd and Beth made their home in rural Princeton until 2007, when they moved to Nebraska, where they made lifelong friendships with special people. In 2014, they purchased a home on the Rum River in Milaca which quickly became Beth’s favorite, and they were welcomed by the family of believers at First Baptist Church of Milaca. Beth looked forward to meeting up with her Friday morning coffee ladies. She cherished their conversations and support they showed one another. The love Beth shared radiated into everything she did, including homemaking, gardening and spending time with friends. Beth’s great loves were Jesus, Todd and of course Emma, her beloved dog.
Beth passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at the University of Minnesota. She is survived by her loving husband, Todd; brother, Terry (Stacy) Peterson of Breezy Point, MN; sister, Cindy (Ron) Lane of Cromwell, MN; nephew, Justin Peterson; nieces, Amanda Rich and Michelle Rich; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Alice (Moss) Peterson, and nephew, Staff Sargent Lathan C. Peterson.
