Carol Kragt, age 77, of Milaca, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024. Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. Burial will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Carol Ann (Goslinga) Kragt was born on November 4, 1946 to Theodore and Angeline (Brinks) Goslinga. She was raised on a farm near Pease and attended Pease Christian School and Milaca High School. After she graduated, she moved to the big city of Minneapolis and worked for Zurich American Insurance Co. until she married James Kragt on September 3, 1965. Jim farmed and Carol worked at Ben Franklin in Milaca from 1965-1970. Jim and Carol had two children, Tracy and Steve. Carol was a stay-at-home wife and mother until 1991 when she started working at Milaca Public Schools as a special education paraprofessional, which she enjoyed very much until 2013 when she officially retired. Jim retired from farming, they sold the farm, and then moved to a new home in Milaca in 2018. Carol enjoyed people. It did not matter if she knew them or not. Traveling was a joy for her and after Jim passed away in 2020, she continued to travel, and it was no surprise to anyone that she met new friends on each trip. She enjoyed two winters in Apache Junction, AZ where she also met many new friends. She loved calligraphy and garage sales. She loved dancing and live music. She was a volunteer at church for many events. She was a member of a local current events group, and she volunteered at the Milaca Area Historical Society.

She is survived by her children, Tracy (Kragt) Larsen and husband Todd of Milaca, Steve Kragt and wife Kimberly of Otsego; 7 grandchildren, Claire (Larsen) Skorseth and husband Caleb of St. Michael, Nicholas Larsen, Abby Larsen, Kalista Kragt, Kassidy Kragt, Colby Kragt, and Karianna Kragt; sisters, Eileen (Goslinga) Nikolas and husband Steve of Ham Lake, Dorothy (Goslinga) Wood and husband Brad of Peachtree, GA, Marlene (Goslinga) Jenson and husband Brad of Monticello; brother, John Goslinga and wife Barb of Milaca; in-laws; Kay Goslinga of Milaca, Alan and RuthAnn Kragt of Milaca, Mitch and Edie Kuperus of Milaca, Rich and Carol VanSomeren of Baldwin, WI, and Joyce Kragt of Milaca. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Angeline Goslinga, her brothers, Bill Goslinga and Paul Goslinga, and her brother-in-law, Lee Kragt.

So many good memories…your homemade spaghetti, your banana bread, planning your wonderful trips, helping you carry your garage sale finds, always wearing lipstick, visiting with strangers, keeping up on Pease/Milaca news, dancing, your meatballs, listening to WWCO and music, the ½ sticks of gum-a Goslinga gal trademark, applesauce raisin cake with thick frosting, the presents wrapped in newspaper comics, raising us, loving us, praying for us, thank you…Your Family
