Cecelia Christensen

Cecelia Christensen, age 86, of Foreston MN, was born on April 20, 1938, to Connor and Nancy Foster in Napoleon, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025.

On June 13, 1959, she married Art Christensen and together they raised a family of three children. Cecelia is survived by her children: Dean Christensen (Maren), Carol Johnson (Darrell), and Tom Christensen (Joanie). She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Nyah, Connor, and Isaac, as well as six great-grandchildren: Addison, Aria, Zoe, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Zipporah.

Cecelia was a hardworking and dedicated woman. For many years, she contributed her skills and work ethic to Fingerhut, a company that was akin to the "Amazon of its day," providing mail-order merchandise to countless homes.

Her life was filled with travel and cherished moments with family and friends. She and her beloved husband, Art, enjoyed many trips to Phoenix, Arizona, to visit their son Dean and his wife, Maren. They also created lasting memories through travels with family and friends to destinations such as Las Vegas, Tampa, and Wyoming.

Back home on the farm, Cecelia was a gracious host, often opening her heart and home for family picnics. Her love for nurturing extended to her garden, where she cultivated vibrant flowers, and to her kitchen, where she took delight in baking and canning.

Cecelia's hands were rarely still. She lovingly knitted mittens and scarves for donation, and her dedication to her crafts was evident in her meticulous embroidery. In 2014, she proudly noted that she had embroidered over 100 sets of dish towels.

Cecelia will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and strong will. She cherished her family and found joy in their company.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at 10 AM at Milaca Ev. Free Church. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. She will be laid to rest in the Milo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Milaca Ev. Free Church or the Milaca Area Food Pantry.
