Denise Mary Leaf

Denise (Hirsch) Leaf, age 50, passed away suddenly Monday, August 6, 2018 at her home in Milaca. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11 AM  at St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Denise was born November 16, 1967 in Milaca to William and Jeanette Hirsch.  She grew up in Foreston and graduated from Milaca High School in 1986. On June 6, 1987, Denise married Walter “Joe” Leaf.  They had two sons and have resided in Milaca for the last 31 years.

Denise loved spending time with her sons and family.  Whether it was camping in Nisswa, fishing on a lake, watching football, playing cards, or chatting for hours, she enjoyed every minute of it with them.  Her flower gardens, her dog, Daisy, and any TV show that made her laugh, were all big parts of her life.  Denise truly cared for all people she knew and was loved by many.

Denise is survived by her husband, Joe;  sons, Taylor (Danielle) Leaf of White Bear Lake and Joshua Leaf of Milaca;  father, William A. Hirsch of Onamia;  sister, LuAnne Swanson of Flagstaff, AZ; brother, William S. (Amy and daughter Ruby) Hirsch of Foreston;  mother-in-law, Dorothy Leaf;  in-laws, Lynne Prodger, Darwin (Lisa) Leaf, Adelle Robinson, Gordon Leaf, Edie (Scot) Bassett and Sally (Lars) Gehlbach;  also by many loved nieces and nephews. 

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Hirsch;  step-mother, Gertrude Hirsch;  father-in-law, Russell Leaf and in-laws, Thomas Prodger and Mark Robinson.
