Dennis Evensen

Dennis LeRoy Evensen was born May 25, 1937 to Andy and Vera (Oskey) Evensen at home in Page Township, MN.  He grew up in Milaca and later went to Greenland to do survey work.

Dennis was united in marriage to Margaret “Donna” Uhde on July 15, 1961 in Hennepin County and they had one daughter, Debra.  They made their home in Brooklyn Center until 1978 when they moved to Pillager and then to Baxter, MN.  While living in Brooklyn Center, he worked at Schaefer Manufacturing and Litton Manufacturing.  After moving to Baxter, Dennis worked at Clow Stamping in Merrifield, MN.  Dennis and Donna enjoyed spending time with their close friends, Ronny, Elaine and Lee Westling.  He liked working in his yard, cutting grass and snow blowing.  He loved spending time with his great-grandson, Ayden.  Dennis passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at home in Baxter, MN.

 He is survived by his daughter, Debra Evensen-Flansburg;  grandchildren, Jamie (John) Leaf and Kjerstin Flansburg;  great-grandson, Ayden Leaf;  brothers, Roger (Janice) Evensen, Ronald (Virginia) Evensen and Arnold (Ardelle) Evensen;  also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna;  parents, Andy and Vera;  brother, Andy Richard and sister, Darlene (Ken) Jorgensen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11 AM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca.  Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
