Dennis Lee Saxon

Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis Saxon, age 72, of Oak Park, will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Dennis Lee Saxon was born December 8, 1946 to Lynn and Marcella (Grady) Saxon in Leeds, North Dakota. In his pre-teen years, he moved with his family to a farm in rural Milaca.  He was united in marriage to Jean Ann LaFore on October 8, 1966 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Foley and to this union three daughters and one son were born.  They made their home in Oak Park, where they lived for the last 46 years.  Dennis was a proud truck driver and drove for 45 years with several companies.  He retired from Hardrives in 2009 after over 30 years of service.  Dennis loved his yard and his Farmall tractor and his John Deere lawn tractor.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and deer hunting.  He loved spending time with his family and telling stories about home in North Dakota.  He passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at St. Cloud Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean;  children, Lorna (Brad) Maag of Becker, Ellen (Steve) Hoskin of Milaca, Jeremy (Robin Larsen) Saxon of St. Cloud and Linda (Spencer Wolff) Erickson of Clear Lake;  grandchildren, Sarah, Shane, Michael, Sean, Brittany and Leevi;  great-grandchild, Payslee;  sisters, Mary Ann Fry of Rosemount, JoAnn (Hank) Holland of Chesterfield, VA, Caroline (Brian) Grams of Mahtomedi and Lynn (Jeff) Lerfald of Scandinavia, MN; sister-in-law, Rachel Saxon of Stanchfield;  also by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  granddaughter, Madison Roberts;  sister, Diane Kay Saxon;  brothers, Robert, James and Michael Saxon and brother-in-law, Ken Fry.
