Doris Anfinson

Doris Anfinson, age 87, of Milaca, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, MN.  Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 5972 70th Avenue, Princeton, MN.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Visitation will take place from 4 - 7 PM Thursday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with a MOCA/VFW service at 5 PM and a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Doris Arlene (Klaustermeier) Anfinson was born on June 2, 1937, on a farm near Lester Prairie, MN. She was the daughter of Elmer and Malinda (Ide) Klaustermeier. She was baptized as an infant and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lester Prairie, MN. Doris received her education in Lester Prairie, MN, graduating with the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1955.

On October 20, 1963, Doris was united in marriage to Dennis Anfinson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, MN. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Daniel, and Deann. Doris and Dennis shared 61 years of marriage.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She worked for IDS, American Express and Ameriprise as a commercial loan officer until 2003 when she retired. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Princeton, MN, and VFW Auxiliary member of 10794 and 4847 and MOCA #62 of St. Cloud, MN and American Legion Auxiliary of Unit #1 in Minneapolis, MN and was 5th District President for the American Legion Auxiliary. Doris lived in Lester Prairie, Minneapolis and Milaca, MN.

Doris is survived by her loving family: husband, Dennis Anfinson, son, Daniel (Mary) Anfinson, daughter, Deann Reynolds-Merson, grandchildren Jordan, Ashley, Garrett, Riley Anfinson, Joseph (Sarah) Westlund, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Holly Westlund, brother, Hillard Klaustermeier, sister, Marlys Nelson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Elmer and Malinda Klaustermeier, father and mother-in-law, Anton and Emily Anfinson, sons-in-law, Corky Reynolds and Jimmy Merson, sister-in-law, Marlys Klaustermeier, and brothers-in-law, Robert Hawkinson and Duane Nelson.
