Faye Maxine (Johnson) Miller, age 91, of Milaca, formerly of Bloomington, died on Friday, May 10, 2019. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 3:00 pm at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Milaca with The Reverend Dan Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Casketbearers will include Benjamin Burney, Caleb Burney, Jeremiah Burney, Greyson Pingree, Isaac Nelson and Tyler Sauck.
Faye Miller was born February 15, 1928, in Hibbing, MN, to Carl W. and Lillie (Isaacson) Johnson. She grew up in rural Hibbing and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1946. She studied bookkeeping at Hibbing Technical College and later married Edward Miller at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing on July 25, 1953. They lived in Bloomington, MN, for 40 years. Faye was the supervisor of mailroom and duplicating services for Abbott Northwestern Hospital for several years. Edward and Faye retired in 1992 and in 1994 they moved to their home in rural Milaca, MN. In 2010, after Ed's passing, Faye moved into an apartment at her daughter Carol’s nearby home in rural Milaca. Faye was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Milaca. She was a talented knitter and sewer, enjoyed reading, watching baseball and football, and gardening. Faye had a lifelong practice of praying and reading her Bible every night at bedtime.
She is survived by her children Linda of Goffstown, NH, Carol (Tom) Nelson of Milaca and Paul (Faye) Miller of Willow AK; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother Charles Johnson and wife Gladys of Hastings, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son-in-law Russell Burney, and brother Albert Johnson and wife Virginia.
