Frank Schmidt

Frank William Schmidt was born December 24, 1930 to John and Marie (Brummer) Schmidt in Bock, MN.  He served in the US Army for three years and later in the National Guard.  He was united in marriage to Lorraine Loeffler on June 27, 1951 in Princeton, MN.  Frank worked for 32 years at the Red Owl Foods warehouse in Hopkins, MN.  He was a member of Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post #174 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post #10794 in Milaca and served for many years on the honor guard.  Frank enjoyed coffee with the Hardee’s boys, lunch with good friends and fishing with his sons and grandkids.  After Lorraine’s death, Frank married Grace Montcalm on January 21, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca.  He passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Princeton Elim Home.

He is survived by his children, Karla (Jim) Schendel, John (Mary) Schmidt, and daughter-in-law, Sue Schmidt; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a few great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wives, Lorraine and Grace; son, Sheldon; siblings, Alvin, Donald, Katherine, Rose Marie; great-granddaughter, Harper.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Princeton.  Interment with full military honors will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
