Gordon Stanley Lundberg was born on September 17, 1933 to Herman and Ruth (Olson) Lundberg near Milaca on the home farm. He attended Riverside Country School and later in Milaca where he graduated from High School in 1951. For a short time he attended Dunwoody School in Minneapolis before starting work in December of 1951 at North Star Garage in Milaca. He was a mechanic and later became the service manager. Gordy was united in marriage to Vergean Johnson on August 23, 1964 at the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. He operated the towing service at the garage as well and drove school bus for over 30 years. He retired in 1995. Gordy and Vergean enjoyed camping with the Christian Camping Club and they especially enjoyed their trip to Alaska. Gordy was a member of the Milaca Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed playing golf and bowling. Gordy died on Thursday, May 24that the Foley Nursing Home at the age of 84 years 7 months and 7 days. He is survived by siblings, Jeanette (Orvin) Finnesgard of Crosby, ND, Robert (Doris) Lundberg of Milaca, Duane (Marian) Lundberg of Boon, Iowa and Grace (Darrel) Alen of Balsam Lake, WI and several nieces and nephews. Extended family, Bruce, Linda, Sara-Beth, Eric Jacobsen, Jim, Rosie, Jesse, Emily Gerads. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Vergean in 2009. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, May 27that the Milaca Elim Home Chapel with Rev Dale Clifton officiating. Music by the Stony Brook Band. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Casketbearers are the Jim Gerads and Bruce Jacobsen families. Arrangements are with the Peterson Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca.
