Funeral services for Jeanne Kragt-Barchinger will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pease Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Michael Ten Haken officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Pease Cemetery.
Jeanne Dorothy (Nyenhuis) Kragt-Barchinger was born January 26, 1929 in Milo Township, Mille Lacs County to Egbert Peter and Rosa (Walburg) Nyenhuis. She graduated from Pease School in May 1943. She received her Profession of Faith on August 24, 1947. Jeanne was united in marriage to Donald Kragt on August 19, 1948 and had seven beautiful children together.
She loved the Lord and served him by being very active in her church. From being a Sunday school teacher to making quilts for missions. Her service to God spanned eight decades.
Jeanne worked as a waitress at Sportman Café. She also worked for Super Valu for 26 years. She was also a homemaker and managed apartments with her husband, Roland.
She married Roland Barchinger on June 03, 2003.
Jeanne passed away October 13, 2019 at Country Meadows in Milaca.
She is survived by her husband, Roland, of Lisbon, North Dakota; children, Terry (Sharry) of Pease, Randy of Willamina, Oregon, Joy Baum of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Brian (Sharry) of Banks, Oregon, Mike (Saba) of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Harlan (Suzanne) of Eden Prairie; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and step son-in-law, Bruce (Lora) Crummy; siblings, Grace Nyenhuis, Jack (Lee) Nyenhuis, Betty Tymes, Ron (Carole) Nyenhuis, Joanne Arnoys, Dick Haines, Lynn (Dave) Setsma and Ken (Bev) Nyenhuis; brother-in-law, Lester Ruis.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Jean on July 03, 1952; her grandson, Jason Jay Kragt on September 10, 1978; her first husband, Donald Kragt on October 18, 1995; her parents; and her siblings, Jackie (Jacob), John, Wilma, and Marjorie.
