Lucille Swanson

Lucille Jane Swanson was born March 22, 1935 to Harry and Mabel Swanson.  She lived her early years between Milaca and Princeton.  She graduated from Milaca High School in 1953.  She married Maynard Swanson, the love of her life, in 1954.  He was taken away to heaven after 50+ years of marriage.  Every day after, she missed him terribly.  To this marriage they were blessed with seven children, Richard, Laurie, Robert, Rodney, Russell, Lynnelle, and Lisa.

Lucille was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved gardening and cooking.  She and Maynard liked taking their children on many great vacations, including annual weeklong trips to Mission Lake.  She loved people and people loved her.  She shared that love by caring for the elderly at Foley Nursing Center for thirty years.  She enjoyed her retirement by spending time with family and friends, knitting, and reading her Bible.  She will be remembered by anyone asking how she was doing, and she would answer by saying, “fat and sassy.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel; husband, Maynard; sister, Helen Ulstad; infant brother; and great-granddaughter, Emberly Campeau.

Lucille is survived by her children, Richard (Jenine) Swanson, Laurie (Chuck) Gahm, Robert (Lynn) Swanson, Rodney (Bridget) Swanson, Russell (Kelly) Swanson, Lynnelle (Mathew) Campeau, and Lisa (Rob) Jacobson; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Lee) Steinbrecher, brother, Melvin Swanson; brother-in-law, Gil Ulstad; and many more family and friends.
