Please join us as we celebrate Miles' life on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Greenhaven Golf Course, 2800 Greenhaven Road, Anoka, MN.
Miles was born to Jan and Jackie (Remer) Hendrickson on July 19, 1976, in Milaca, MN. He passed away on March 15, 2025, at a hospital in the Dominican Republic after becoming ill while on spring break with his family and friends.
Miles attended Milaca Public Schools, where he was known for his sharp humor, earning the title of class clown—all while effortlessly acing his tests. He graduated in 1994.
On April 2, 2005, he married Melissa Stone in Anoka, MN, and never looked back. Their love was rare and effortless, and together they built a beautiful life. Miles was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, and friend. He leaves behind the love of his life, Melissa; their beloved children, Charlie and Anna; his wonderful daughter Avery (Jacob Holte); and his precious grandson, Jasper. His family was his world, and he never missed an opportunity to remind them—through both words and actions—that they always came first.
Miles is also survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Jackie and Lonnie Strandlund; his sister, Sonia Hammill; his in-laws, Jim and Sue Stone; brothers-in-law, Mike (Susan) Stone and Matt Stone; nephew, Aidan Hammill (Caitlin Steiskal); and nieces, Anika Hammill, Collin, and Allison Stone. He was also blessed with a large extended family and an incredible circle of friends who have surrounded his family with love and support during this unimaginable loss.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jan Hendrickson, and his grandparents, George and Anna Remer and Russell and Evelyn Hendrickson.
Miles was employed at Sherburne County Health and Human Services as a Child Support Officer, carrying out his work with compassion and a commitment to helping others.
He was deeply invested in Anoka athletics and had an uncanny ability to stay one step ahead of everyone, with his knowledge of brackets and opponent statistics. He recently served as treasurer of the Anoka Football Booster Club and was proud to give back to the program. Miles’ support extended far beyond his own children—he was a cheerleader for every kid who needed encouragement, always finding a way to lend a hand and lift others up.
Miles’ quick wit, generosity, and kindness drew people in, and we are all better for having known him. Though his time here was far too short, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. We will treasure every memory, honor his life, and carry forward the warmth he brought into the world.
Rest easy, Miles. You were one of a kind, and we will miss you forever!
The outpouring of love and generosity through GoFundMe has been truly overwhelming, and the family is deeply grateful for all the support they have received. In honor of Miles, the family asks that you cherish time with loved ones, share laughter, and spread kindness—just as he did every day.
For those who still wish to contribute in some way, in lieu of flowers, donations to assist with ongoing expenses and the future needs of his children would be sincerely appreciated.
