Funeral services for Paul Taber, age 94, will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Clifton officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Paul B. Taber was born June 29, 1923 in Hector, Minnesota to Frank and Theora (Fahlberg) Taber. Paul grew up in Hector. After graduating from high school in 1941, he served in the U.S. Navy as a carrier pilot from 1942-1953. He attended the University of Minnesota, worked as an accountant, and for the City of Robbinsdale. He enjoyed flying, fishing, golfing, cars, reading, traveling, and spending time at their winter home in Tucson, Arizona. After retirement, he and Fran lived in northern Minnesota, his last home in Crosslake. He loved spending time with family, catching up on all that was going on in their lives and of course, teasing and joking whenever possible. He was kind and had a huge heart. He set a record in the Taber family of living the longest- 94 years, 6 ½ months. He will be missed.
He passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Milaca Elim Home.
Paul is survived by his sister, Patricia (Andreus) Johnson; step-son, Thomas (Nancy) Dols; sisters-in-law, Edna Kelly and Mavis Taber; 14 nieces and nephews; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many friends, both old and new.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Frances; brother, LeRoy; step-son, Terrance Dols; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dols; brother-in-law, William Kelly; nephew, Kevin Johnson, and parents-in-law, Henry and Myrtle Bolte.
