Funeral services for Walter Bolling, age 89, of Plymouth, formerly of Milaca, will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11 AM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church. Interment will follow at Wendell Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Walter William Bolling was born December 18, 1928 to Carl and Annie (Newburg) Bolling in Bogus Brook Township, Mille Lacs County, MN. Walt grew up on the family farm near Milaca, MN. Walter later took over the family farm with his wife, Helen, and farmed there for many years. He was one of the founding brothers of the Day Fish Company, which is still operated by his brother, Roy. Walt and Helen enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Sweden and fishing trips to Canada. Walter was known for his humor and his many witty sayings. He liked to speak Swedish, even to people who didn’t understand it! Walt passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. He will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his sons, Terry Bolling and Jerry Bolling; stepson, Ronald (Dolly) Buth and his family; stepdaughter, Vicki (Phil) Thompson and her family; sister, Violet Buckingham; brother, Roy (Charlotte) Bolling; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen and many brothers and sisters.
