Edward James Nemeth

Edward Nemeth, age 83, of Milaca, formerly of Elk River, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 12 Noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Milaca.  Burial with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association

Edward Nemeth was born May 29, 1939 to Stephen and Laura (Herrboldt) Nemeth in Elk River, MN.  He was united in marriage to Sally Holland on October 7, 1961 in Buffalo, MN.  Ed and Sally made their home in Anoka before moving to Elk River in 1965.  After retiring in 2001, Ed and Sally moved to Big Lake and then to Milaca, MN.  He enjoyed gardening, yardwork, wood working, and Hallmark movies.  Ed loved spending time with his children and grandchildren playing cards and trash talking.  He died peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, after battling Alzheimers.

 He is survived by sons, Todd (Patti) of Big Lake and Troy (Lisa) of Elk River; daughters, Tane (Robert) Fisk of Dawson and Tracey (Mark) Carlson of Milaca; grandchildren, Samantha Nemeth, Jeremy (Lauren) Nemeth, Travis Nemeth, Zachary (Caitlin) Fisk, Clayton Fisk, Nicholas Fisk, Ethan (Aemiliana) Fisk-Aphelli, Caleb Carlson, Nathaniel Carlson, Joshua Carlson, Noah Carlson, Abigail Carlson and Josiah Carlson; step-grandsons, Lance (Joni) Klofstad and Richard (Bryana) Klofstad; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol McLaughlin and Mary (Richard) Mussell; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally; his parents, Stephen and Laura; his brother, Stephen.
